Albert qualified as a general dentist in June 1980 at the Dental School of The University of the Witwatersrand obtaining a medal for the best student in restorative dentistry. After two years of compulsory military training he read for the masters degree in prosthodontics (restorative and reconstructive dentistry) and qualified as a prosthodontist in 1985. He started his own general practice in 1989 in Bryanston, Johannesburg which has grown from strength to strength based on sound principles of quality dentistry and his passion for excellence in gentle personalized patient care always using the latest modern techniques in holistic patient care. He has set high standards in preventative dental care, i.e. preventing dental disease such as dental caries (decay), periodontal (gum) disease and loss of teeth due to attrition and abrasion. He recently moved his practice to a modern high-class complex attached to the prestigious Morningside Clinic in Sandton, Johannesburg. Albert is married for 28 years to Lesley. They have three children Ashley 25, David 22 and Kirsten 16. Albert enjoys fitness exercising and playing golf. |

Angela Baker (Oral Hygienist) |

Angela qualified as a hygienist in 1991 at the University of the Witwatersrand achieving the accolade of being in the top three students. Since then she has been in private practice. This has made her an accomplished hygienist and vastly experienced in this important and special type of dental care.
She prides herself in giving a very high standard of patient care. Her gentle caring predisposition and philosophy towards dental treatment makes her popular with her patients. She is passionate about educating her patients in the latest techniques and commercial products in preventative home care: to prevent dental caries and gum disease. She is very perceptive to each individual patient’s needs and dental condition and is passionate in educating patients to understand their individual needs and gum conditions. She regularly attends continued education courses to stay up-to-date with the latest techniques and products; her patients richly benefit from this knowledge. |

Maria Dippenaar (Receptionist and Personal Assistant) |

Maria is our efficient receptionist and practice manager. She is also Dr Van der Walt’s personal assistant. Her friendly predisposition and interaction with all our patients attests to her interpersonal skills and is highly valued by both the team and the patients. |

Mary-Anne Leeferink (Dental Nurse) |

Mary-Anne is a vastly experienced dental nurse and clinical assistant. Her in-depth knowledge of dentistry and clinical dental procedures makes her extremely efficient in assisting the dentists in the surgery. | |
Julia Mpulo (Dental Nurse) |

Julia is a qualified dental nurse with many years of experience in this field. Her friendly and efficient predisposition helps to put the patients at ease in the surgery. She has an in-depth knowledge of clinical assisting and dentistry. She also manages the stock of dental materials and is the chief ordering assistant. |

Christine Dibobe (Sterilizing) |

Chrissie is a long-standing member of staff. She is invaluable in making sure that all our instruments are put through a stringent three-step process of cleaning and sterilization. This is a very important process to protect our patients from any chance of cross-infection. We have the confidence that everything we use in the surgeries are fully sterilized. Chrissie is also involved in the general maintenance of cleanliness of the practice. |
